Apogee Duet2 Quick Review

I created a very quick and dirty review of the new Apogee Duet2 USB audio interface/mic pre. In short, it's a fantstic device that can give me 24/192 audio with enough gain to drive my dynamic microphones. Unfortunately, it doesn't meet my needs in some areas, and faces some stiff competition with the Sound Devices USBPre 2. The audio was recorded in an amazingly noisy room with my PR40 and the Duet2. The recording was edited in Final Cut Pro X. No, really ;-)

I got a chance to help create a rather interesting new tool for
presentations: Arc90 and Behavior Design's "Donahue App".

It allows presenters to give their audience an official 'backchannel'
during the talk, in effect bringing them into the conversation. The
system uses Twitter as a shared communication mechanism, and each
slide is actually a tweet.

This was the first public display of the application, and it went off
without a hitch. Chris Fahey and Tim Meany gave their presentation
"Toss the Projector" at SXSWi 2011 in Austin, TX, and I was able to
follow along in NYC.

We learnt a lot while building it, and learnt even more while it was
being used live. Updates to the app are going to be stellar.

Good job, everyone!
